Are You A Politician?

Politicians are not just a part of government. You see them at work, at school, at play, at home and even at church. We all play politics. When your wife asked you if she looked good in that purple dress that made her look like a big grape, did you tell her the truth? Lying, fudging, avoiding the question are all a part of politics.

We do not want to be unnecessarily offensive to people. We all want others to like us. We want to try and get along with others. Still we must be careful that we do no harm to ourselves and to others.

You don’t have to lie. Nobody will be able to trust you if you do. If someone needs to hear the truth by all means tell them, but be kind. Sometimes you can avoid the question and direct the conversation somewhere else. Tell your wife that you really like how she looks in the red dress!

Never play politics for your own selfish gain at the expense of others. This is how many have ruined their reputation and harmed others in the process with their lies and false promises. Nations, churches, homes and many individuals have been ruined by such politics.

Good politicians can bring peace, hope, help and better living to all. So let me ask again not are you a politician but what kind of politician are you?
